Delay over spy's 'cause of death'

Delay over spy's 'cause of death'

Investigators are still days away from finding out the exact cause of death of British code-breaker Gareth Williams, police said.

The complicated nature of the tests currently being carried out mean it could be well into next week before police are able to piece together how the maths genius died.

A post mortem examination undertaken earlier this week proved inconclusive and officers are still days away from determining if he was asphyxiated, poisoned or if drugs or alcohol were present in his system.

He was last seen alive eight days before his corpse was found stuffed in a bag at his flat.

North Wales Falklands veteran: 'Why can’t I get the gun licence'

Alan Bennett sets a trap for grey squirrels

A FALKLANDS veteran has accused North Wales Police of jeopardising his pest control business by limiting the terms of his gun licences.

Alan Bennett, a weapons expert who served 25 years with the Welsh Guards, claims to need high-calibre rifles to stalk prey that range from deer to predators of rare birds.

But the retired Welsh Guards Warrant Officer – a former shooting range safety officer – has seen successive applications rejected.

His case is being followed by the British Association of Shooting and Conservation, which is alarmed at the inconsistency in firearms licensing between police forces.
